Q: What's the right way to get rid of "weeping mortar"?
Our house was built in the 1960s and has what is known as weeping mortar. We can't stand the look and want to remove it. The brick is only on the lower half of our ranch-style house. I purchased a pneumatic hammer to test what it would take to remove, and it comes down pretty easily, but I want to make sure this won't cause future issues. And, do we have to seal or treat exposed mortar?

I came across a remote, PC-controlled breaker panel. While it is probably not needed for the average home, it would be ideal for applications where one needs to turn lights and other equipment off and on from a central location. I can see it being handy with barns, garages, exterior lighting, etc. Is anyone on a similar system? What are the pros and cons?
