This Old House continues with a new and unique project on the North Shore of Massachusetts: a brand-new historical-style home that fits right in with the New England–style homes in the surrounding rural landscape. This Old House will work with owners Bill and April as they move with their new baby from the city and break ground on a new, pre-engineered 3,000-square-foot home with fine architectural details from the late 1700s. This fascinating approach to residential design and construction captures the essence of historical architecture and detail in a new home with today’s practical layouts and modern amenities. The family chose Connor Homes to pre-design and engineer the historically accurate house. The television series will show how the components of the home are pre-built in a factory by skilled craftspeople. On the job site, these components will be assembled to create an energy-efficient home in a fraction of the usual time.
