For the first time in its 38-year history, This Old House is tackling a single-family brick home in the historic Russell Woods area of Detroit, Michigan. And the city isn’t shying away from its TOH debut! Homeowners Frank and Tamiko Polk purchased a two-story home from the Land Bank Authority, and the three-bedroom, three-bath home will be renovated in the true hard-working spirit of the community.
“We’re here to help them out and do whatever we can, but there are a lot of people stepping up to the plate,” TOH general contractor Tom Silva says of the support from the community, including Polk family friend Jamal Johnson and local general contractor Josh Engle.
