It’s moving day in Ridgewood, as the renovation of the 1930s colonial revival wraps up. Homeowner Peter gives Kevin O’Connor a tour of the first floor. He shows overall layout changes which allow for a new coat closet, full bathroom and pantry. They tour the living room and Peter’s new favorite room: his home office. Which has a beautiful view of the backyard.
Upstairs Zack Dettmore shows Tom Silva the hidden door in the primary bedroom that has a not-so-hidden doorknob. Luckily, Tom turned a piece of red oak to a beautiful doorknob that goes much better with the door.
As Zack gets back to work Kay joins Tommy to give him a tour of the upstairs. They tour the brand-new primary bedroom and refinished bathroom with a new skyline.
In the basement, Kay finds Richard Trethewey and Peter where Richard goes over the completely new water piping and the new water filter and softener to help fight the hard water in their neighborhood. They also go over the brand-new combination boiler that not only runs much better but frees up a lot of space in their basement.
Back on the first floor Zack gives Kevin a tour of the brand-new back extension which includes two extra doors that give access to the driveway and the backyard as well as a new and improved kitchen with a breakfast nook and large windows to give them great visual access to the back yard.
Outside the homeowners and Jenn Nawada reminisce on all the upgrades the backyard has gone through including the new drainage system and the tree experts revival of their sugar maple but the favorite improvement is definitely the new patio and water feature. Everyone joins them outside to celebrate wrapping up this Ridgewood project.
