Host Bob Vila takes a tour of the finished and decorated Weatherbee Farm. Designer Joe Ruggiero shows Bob simple decorating techniques used in the master bedroom and bath.

A specialist from the E.K. Perry Paint Company demonstrates the art of sponge painting. Artisan Jeannie Serpa shows host Bob Vila the art of painting in the false marble technique.

Cast acrylic countertops and sink and handcrafted, custom-made cabinets are installed. Bob Vila visits the workshop where countertops were fabricated. Norm Abram demonstrates a new table saw.

Southern yellow pine flooring is laid over the new radiant heat system. Norm and host Bob Vila show how the vanity for the new master bathroom was built.

Landscaping proceeds as shrubs and flowers are planted, and the renovated wellhead is installed. Norm Abram uncovers some hardwood floor in search of a fireplace hearth.

A stone wall is built in the garden area, and work starts on a concrete block terrace. Inside, Rich Trethewey and Norm Abram install a new radiant heating system.

Norm Abram installs barnboard form the old ell at one end of the new kitchen addition. Tom McGrath discusses restoring the new wellhead for a decorative feature.

Exterior work continues. A special European technique is used to lime the aged chimney. Norm shows host Bob Vila how new wooden gutters are installed on the front porch.

Norm Abram crafts decorative arches. Bob Vila supervises as decorative balusters are lathed, and insulation is blown in to the existing structure. The ceiling is replaced.

Bob Vila gives an update on the progress of the restoration. Windows are installed in the new wing, and Vila takes viewers to Bayport, MN, to visit a state-of-the-art window factory.

Bob Vila and master carpenter Norm Abram install true divided light French doors. Bill and Cynthia start roofing the addition with Western rew cedar shingles.

Norm Abram supervises the raising of the wall that finishes enclosing the new kitchen addition. Bob Vila checks with homeowners and gives an update on the restoration.

Architect Mary Otis Stevens uses an architectural model to describe proposed changes to Weatherbee Farm. Norm Abram and his crew salvage elements such as doors, windows, and antique hardware to reuse.
