The Weston Project: This Old House Builds a New Prefab Timberframe Home
Ask This Old House: All New Problems, All New Solutions, All New Season
For the fall 2008 season, This Old House will build a new prefab, eco-friendly home reminiscent of barns built centuries ago. Homeowners Pete and Amy Favat love their land, but have outgrown their 1970’s-era home. They will work with a local deconstruction company to dismantle the old house, salvaging more than 85 percent of the materials for donation, to make way for a new home that will meet the needs of their active family. Custom homebuilder Tedd Benson and his staff are designing and prefabricating the new state-of-the-art timberframe home, with This Old House general contractor Tom Silva pulling it all together on site. Green elements also have been incorporated into the design through the use of sustainable products and energy-efficient technologies. Tune in to watch the Favat’s dream home come to life over the course of 16 brand-new episodes. And see more here on the Weston project.
Also this season, the Ask This Old House experts are once again traveling the country to help homeowners tackle everyday home repairs and improvements. Throughout the 26 new episodes, the crew will visit Nashville, Chicago, Indianapolis, Charleston, Hartford, Salt Lake City, San Diego, and of course, Boston. Be sure to watch later this season when the crew devotes an entire episode to kid-friendly projects.
The This Old House Weston project and Season 7 of Ask This Old House premiere exclusively on PBS beginning Thursday, October 2, 2008. Check our TV Schedule or your local listings for air times.
